Different than my colleagues, this was my first time at IRCE (Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition). I could not have been more excited to check out the largest ecommerce event in the world and connecting with retailers.
As Alicia Dale mentioned in her most recent post on 'what to expect at IRCE 2015', the conference was expected to reach 10,000 attendees this year. The results are not out yet, but if we didn’t hit 10,000 attendees it probably was close. It was a well attended event with excellent leaders in the ecommerce field (Top 500). IDS had an excellent location just to the right of the main entrance at Booth #320. The same spot we were in last year as well!
IDS was able to show off our 2 point distribution strategy (reaching 90%+ of the U.S. population in 2 day ground service from both Salt Lake City, UT and Indianapolis, IN) to industry professionals along with a scrolling video demonstrating our order fulfillment capabilities to the ecommerce and order fulfillment industry. We were well represented at the event with 2 Business/Client Development personnel, Michael DeFabis & Robert Hartley, Marketing Coordinator, Alicia Dale and our CEO, Mark DeFabis. A few of us were able to get away for a session or two throughout the 3 day conference. Many of the break-out sessions were not geared toward 3PL fulfillment but we enjoy stepping in to learn about what is affecting our customers from the other end of the supply chain.
We were able to address prospective customers, current customer and partners at the event discussing our operations in Indianapolis, IN, new operations in Salt Lake City, UT (as of Q3 2014) and our value added service offerings. IRCE 2015 was a fantastic show for IDS and we want to thank the organizers for another great year. We look forward to attending for many more years to come.
